Hidden in the Forest of Dean, Clearwell Castle is about 45 minutes from Bristol, Cheltenham and Gloucester.
Overnight parking is available at the venue. The owners kindly ask that cars be collected by 11am the following morning.
The castle has disabled parking spaces as well as access into the castle. Please note that the disabled toilets are on the lower ground floor only, and access via wheelchair will require going outside as there is no lift in the main building.
If you require a taxi at the end of the night, you must pre-book!
There are plenty of rooms available to book on the Castle Grounds and their sister accommodation, The Wyndham. Please contact us (details below) if you would like see these options and book a room and we will let you know the availability.
If you would like to book your own accommodation but unfamiliar with the area, please contact us for some advice and recommendations!
For guests staying in the Castle Grounds or The Wyndham, all bedrooms will be available from 12 noon, with the exception of the estate cottages, which are available from 1pm. Therefore, all day guests staying in one of these locations can check in before the ceremony. Breakfast on Sunday morning is included and will be served from 8:30am to 9:30am in the Ballroom.
Check-out of the bedrooms is at 10am, and the owners ask for all to be offsite by 11am.
Drinks with the groom
If you would like to join Max for drinks the night before (Fri 24th) then you are welcome to join him at The Greenman in Fownhope (where we live). Postcode is HR1 4PE.
There are rooms at The Greenman itself and other options around the village to stay that night. There is no accommodation at Clearwell the night before. If you think you will join Max, please complete the form at the bottom of the RVSP page.
